April 6
A Mormon "liturgy" need not be complicated, nor indeed too somber or serious. Here's what we're doing to celebrate April 6, the day the Church was organised (bear in mind this is geared towards a family with small children): After dinner we're going to have a super yummy dessert (Rebecca's in charge of this so I don't know yet what it's going to be) to celebrate the "richness" of life that the Restoration offers us. On top of the dessert will be 6 chocolates (or candles?) to symbolise both April 6 and the six original members of the Church. We'll then sing one of the stirring Restoration hymns, such as The Morning Breaks, and read Section 21. We might watch a short Church history movie too. Then I have to explain to my 5-year-old just what on earth we are doing. Then when the kids are in bed, we might chant some Latin and light a few candles. Happy April 6th everyone! |

No one expects the Spanish Inquisition!
...Too good to pass up :)

BTW, May 4 is part of my LDS liturgical calendar as "Temple Day." I'll post on it in May.
Perhaps you could also watch the "sixth sense".
